HARPURSVILLE – The Oxford Blackhawks and the Harpursville/Afton Crimson Hornets baseball teams began MAC league play on Monday in Harpursville, where the Blackhawks came away with the 2-1 road win.

Oxford got on the board in the top of the second as Landen Olinski drew a lead-off walk and advanced to second on a groundout, then stole third, and came in to score on a wild pitch.

Other than that early run, it was a pitchers’ duel between Harpursville/Afton’s Ryan Wright and Oxford’s Nic Dodzweit.

Oxford added another run in the top of the sixth inning, which ended up being the game-winner as Degan Endress, who hit a two-out double, scored on an error to make it 2-0.
