Norwich softball drops to Chenango Valley

BINGHAMTON – After four straight home games, the Norwich Purple Tornado softball team traveled to Chenango Valley for a STAC league matchup. Norwich fell 14-2 in Wednesday’s game.

Norwich struck first as Kerragan Reid hit a two-out single to left and advanced to second on a dropped third strike. Reid came in to score on an error.

However, Chenango Valley answered back with five runs combined in the first and second innings.

Down 5-1, Norwich scored in the top of the third inning, where Reid would score the second run as well. Bri Cirigliano led the inning off with a single to right field before stealing second but was out on a fielder’s choice at third. However, Reid, who walked, advanced to second on the play, advanced to third on an error before scoring on Emma Baker’s RBI single to center field.
