Norwich flag football stays unbeaten with a win over Windsor

NORWICH – There was much to celebrate at Norwich High School with a lot of spirit in the air with the High School celebrating its spirit night and the Norwich girls’ flag football team improving to 6-0 with a tight 33-27 win over Windsor on Friday.

Norwich had a 19-6 lead over the Black Knights at halftime after touchdown passes to Emma Urgo and Alivia Burrell and a touchdown run by Josey Ryan.

Norwich added on to the score as Ryan would find the end zone again with a spin move touchdown. Windsor quickly scored on their second breakaway hand-off that went all the way, making it a 12-point game with plenty of time left.

The Black Knights pulled within five as they scored on their next possession after Norwich turned the ball over on downs , following an interception by Urgo.
