SMYRNA - The Smyrna Fire Department responded to 90 calls last year and the EMS responded to 121 calls.

We would like to thank our members for their dedicated service to Smyrna Fire Department and to the Smyrna community.  Countless hours and training go in to being a volunteer.  This training and their dedication keeps our community safe.

Special Recognition went to Arnold Carpenter with 60 years of service and countless hours counting, cleaning, sorting and returning our bottle can fund since 2009. 

Arnold Carpenter dedication to this fund has gain us access to purchase many hand tools and equipment that is used on our apparatus. We also would like to thank the community for these donations as well, without you this could not be possible.

Smyrna Fire Dept. was given two grants this year, the first was local Rotary Grant that help purchase helmet and flashlights for each member and for our trucks.  The next grant was a FEMA Grant, which we are so pleased to get. This purchased 16 sets of new turnout gear for our members.  This new gear is needed to keep our firemen safe while out fighting fighters for our community.  Two other grants are pending. With a small town like Smyrna, these grants are what keeps us in operation.

So proud of our department and members for this long-standing tradition here in Smyrna. Neighbors helping neighbors is what it is all about.
