OXFORD – On Thursday afternoon, the Oxford Blackhawks tennis team hosted neighboring Greene, which Greene came away with the close 3-2 victory.

Greene’s Shane Rideout defeated Sam Hendricks in the first singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.

Taegan Manwarren and Dawson Kimble, Emily Williams and Kenny Baucas battled in both singles matches, going three sets. Kimble came away with the victory against Manwarren with taking the first set 7-5, Manwarren earning the 7-5 win in the second set, and Kimble taking the third set 6-1.

After falling in the first set 6-4, Baucas defeated Williams in the final sets 6-4 and 7-6 (9-7)
