Norwich baseball falls to Sus Valley

CONKLIN – After five straight home games, the Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team traveled to take on the Sus Valley Sabers, where the Sabers won 19-5, taking the first two games of the three-game set.

Norwich got on the board first as Zack Parker, the DH, singled to lead off the inning before two straight walks loaded the bases. Graham Burton singled to right to drive in a run. It would have been two runs but the Sabers got Owen Olds out at the plate.

Sus Valley put up four runs in the bottom half of the inning and scored an additional run in the bottom of the second.

Down 5-1, Norwich cut the deficit to two as they scored three runs in the third. Parker singled again to start the inning off with Olds following with a single to center. Jaxson Francis doubled to drive in a run and Burton had his second RBI of the game with a groundout. Collin Reid also had a groundout RBI.
