BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team is currently riding on a three-game win streak after coming away with a 10-0 victory against Oxford on Friday afternoon. B-G currently sits third in the MAC, behind unbeaten Unatego/Franklin and Deposit-Hancock.
It was a pitching dual between the two teams with a no-hitter for both pitchers. However, B-G got off to a 4-0 start in the first with three straight walks on one out. One run would score on a bases-loaded walk before good base-running by the Bobcats brought home the additional three runs.
Oxford’s Nic Dodzweit got out of a jam with a strikeout and three strikeouts in the first inning.
Both teams were quiet until B-G scored four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With one out, B-G loaded the bases with three straight walks before one run scored on a passed ball before Timmy Kinter is intentionally walked. Two more runs came on a passed ball and a wild pitch before a pitching change, where Blake Barrows entered with the one out in the bottom of the fourth.
Anthony Cafasso had the first hit of the game with a single to left field, driving in a run to make it 8-0 Bobcats.
