NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team debuted new uniforms in Wednesday’s game against Oneonta and played one of their best games of the season, but fell short 2-0 as the Yellow Jackets held Norwich at the plate.

Both teams were held scoreless until Oneonta plated one run in the top of the third with a lead-off walk, a stolen base, a sacrifice bunt that put the runner at third, before he scored on a RBI single to center. After a one out walk, Norwich’s Collin Reid struck out the next two batters. However, Norwich went down on three strikeouts in the bottom half of the inning.
