Harpursville/Afton baseball earns first win of the season in shutout vs Delhi

AFTON – After some tough breaks, the Harpursville/Afton Crimson Hornets baseball team regrouped to host Delhi on Thursday afternoon. The Crimson Hornets earned its first win of the season in a shutout with a 3-0 victory against the Bulldogs before heading into the Livingston Manor tournament.

Afton senior Ryan Wright was lights out on the mound, pitching a complete game shutout, where he allowed six hits but no runs, no walks, and an impressive 18 strikeouts.

Delhi showed their own strengths on the mound as well in a pitching duel, where the Crimson Hornets were held to two hits and were struck out 13 times but scored the three runs they needed to win.
