B-G Softball falls short to Oneonta in high-scoring affair

BAINBRIDGE – On a sunny Thursday afternoon, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team hosted non-league opponent Oneonta. Coming off back-to-back league wins against Oxford and Afton, B-G suffered a 15-13 set back in the high-scoring affair. The Bobcats now sit at 2-2 on the season thus far.

Both teams battled in the first, going into the second in a tied 2-2 game. The Yellow Jackets added five more runs in the second while holding the Bobcats in the second.

B-G got one back in the third before both teams scored four runs in the fourth inning. Oneonta extended its lead by four in the fifth before B-G fought back with six unanswered runs in the sixth and seventh, but could not make a full comeback.
