Pre-registration is open for rifle and pistol clinic for women and girls

Last year during the Women on Target clinic, women and girls practiced safe firearm handling and target shooting. This year, the Women on Target and the National Rifle Association Foundation invite all women and girls to pre-register by May 1 to participate in the rifle and pistol shooting clinic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at the Greene Rod and Gun Club located at 350 Foster Hill Road, in Greene. GREENE — Women On Target and the National Rifle Association (NRA) Foundation invite all women and girls to a rifle and pistol instructional shooting clinic to be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at the Greene and Rod Gun Club located at 350 Foster Hill Road in Greene.


Women of all ages are invited to participate. Girls ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a woman over 21.


Chief Instructor Janette Buell will be running the clinic and has been involved with Women on Target clinics for the past three years at the Greene Rod and Gun Club where she was tutored by Bradd and Rainy Vickers.

Buell will be accompanied by six of the area’s top instructors who will volunteer their time and talent to introduce women to various shooting sports.


"In this one day clinic, the ladies will learn about pistols, rifles, shotguns, all the different types of ammunition and safe handling and storage of the firearms," said Buell.
