B-G softball splits at Marathon Tournament

MARATHON – On Saturday, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team traveled to Marathon to compete in a tournament. The Bobcats faced Cincinnatus and Cortland, where they fell to the Red Lions and defeated the Purple Tigers.

Game 1:

Cincinnatus 11- B-G 8

B-G was held scoreless in the first few innings while Cincinnatus had an early 3-0 lead. B-G got two back in the bottom of the second and scored five runs in the fourth inning. However, the Red Lions scored additional runs to hold on to the lead while B-G got one final run in the last at-bats in the seventh.

Both teams matched with eight hits in the contest.

Kaylin Furgason and Kate Baciuska both led the Bobcats with two hits as Jayslin Henderson and Alessandra Cafasso had triples, which Henderson drove in two runs. Brenna George stole three bases.
