Oxford tennis defeats B-G

OXFORD – On Monday afternoon, the Oxford Blackhawks tennis team hosted B-G in a MAC league matchup. Coming off a tough loss to Greene before spring break, the Blackhawks got back on track with a 4-1 victory over the Bobcats.

Oxford swept the singles matches with Sam Hendricks defeating Brock Porter by scores of 6-1 and 6-0. Taegan Manwarren earned the win over Beckett Longwell with a first set score of 6-4 before coming away with the 7-6 [7-4] victory in a tough second set. Emily Williams defeated Jayden Ingraham 6-1 and 6-0.

Oxford’s Bennett Paden and Richard Hunter fell in a tight match against Dominic Johnson and Blaise Loya. Johnson and Loya took the first set 6-4 while Paden and Hunter forced a third set with a 7-5 victory. Johnson and Loya got the 7-6 [7-3] victory in the final set.
