Oxford baseball falls short to Unatego/Franklin

OXFORD – On Monday, the Oxford Blackhawks baseball team hosted a tough Unatego/Franklin Spartan Devils team, that had suffered their first loss of the season to Deposit-Hancock in a battle of unbeaten teams. Oxford was hoping for a spark to shut them down after a big win against Walton/Downsville. Both teams battled but Oxford fell short 3-1.

Oxford outhit Unatego/Franklin 5-3 with phenomenal pitching from Nic Dodzweit.

After two scoreless innings for both teams, Oxford got on the board first in the bottom of the third inning on some help from Dodzweit at the plate. Conner Dunagan singled with one out, stole second, and advanced to third on an error. Dodzweit singled with two runners on but only one run scored.
