Norwich baseball starts series with Windsor, drops game one

NORWICH – After hard losses to Oneonta, the Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team began a series with Windsor in STAC league play on Monday evening. Norwich fell 7-1 to the Black Knights, whom they’ll face again on Wednesday.

After being down 5-0, Norwich answered back with their lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Graham Burton drew a two-out walk, advanced to second on a single by Connor White, and scored on an RBI single by Hunter Coombs.

Windsor added on in their final at-bats to extend the lead. Both teams matched with three hits. White, Coombs, and Carmine Pastore collected one hit each for Norwich in the loss.
