Rifanburg Racing Promotions hosting the Northeastern Nationals Demolition Derby this weekend

NORWICH – Rifanburg Racing Promotions, a family-run team founded by lead promoter Tristan Rifanburg in 2023, is hosting the Northeastern Nationals Demolition Derby this weekend at the Chenango County Fairgrounds. Rifanburg Racing Promotions also has been running the Chenango County Fair demolition derbys with an aim to support and help further the sport of demolition derbying.

The opening ceremonies begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 and start at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 4.

General admission, which includes parking and grandstand access is $20 per person each day. There is a one-day pit pass for $20 a person in addition to the general admission entry.

An All-access weekend pass is available, which includes two-day parking, general admission, and pit pass for $60 a person. Cash is the only acceptable payment.

Children under five years receive free admission and individuals must be 16 or older to enter the pits.

There will also be various food vendors including Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Nina’s, Polkville Store, The Tavern, French Fry Truck, Cup of Mud, Country Boy’s Chicken, and All the Perks.

Other vendors include a derby merchandise and accessories vendor, a car parts vendor, and Mike’s DJ Service will be joining on Sunday.

There are also kids bounce houses, which is $10 per kid for a day pass or $15 a kid for a weekend pass.

“We are super excited to bring such a huge event right here to our own hometown. We have over 350 cars pre-registered, with drivers coming from all across the U.S., and some even from Canada!” Tristan Rifanburg said. “My family has loved the sport of demolition derbying since as long as I can remember. It’s an honor to be able to host one of the biggest shows in the northeast with some the best drivers and competitors in the country.”
