Oxford baseball comes away with close victory vs Greene
GREENE – The Oxford Blackhawks and Greene Trojans baseball teams met for a second time on Thursday afternoon at Greene this time. Greene had won the league matchup at Oxford on April 22. However, Oxford took this game with a close 6-4 victory.
Greene took an early 1-0 lead as Jackson Roth reached on an error, advanced to second on a sacrifice play, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on an RBI single from Parker Flanagan.
Oxford tied the game in the top of the second off back-to-back singles from Nic Dodzweit and Blake Barrows. Dodzweit came in to score during Brent Hamilton’s at-bat during a pickoff attempt.
The Blackhawks scored two runs in the top of the third, which are the key factors in their victory with both teams scoring three runs in the sixth inning.
Blake Barrows drove in a pair in the third inning with a single to left field.
