BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team picked up its fifth straight win as they hosted Sidney on Friday afternoon. The Lady Bobcats came away with a big 19-4 victory. B-G improves to 7-3 on the season and 6-1 in the league, which they are second behind Deposit-Hancock.
B-G scored at least two runs in all six innings played, including a big seven-run third inning. The Bobcats scored 19 runs on 10 hits.
The Sabers scored five runs through the second, third, and fourth innings.
B-G’s big third inning was sparked by Emma Kinter reaching base on a dropped third strike, advancing to third on an error, which put runners on the corners for Danica Park. Park had an RBI single to right field with one out. Alessandra Cafasso drove in a run with a hard hit infield single and stole second to put runners in scoring position with Jayslin Henderson drawing a walk to load the bases.
Kaylin Furagason grounded into a fielder’s choice, which scored a run and everyone was safe to keep the bases loaded for Tori Suda. Suda reached on an error, which drove in a run. Henderson scored on a groundout RBI by Kate Baciuska and Kinter up for the second time drove in a run on an infield single.
