NORWICH — The Guernsey Sewing Club will be meeting from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 in the Guernsey Memorial Library Meeting Room, located at 3 Court Street in Norwich.

The club is an open-sew group where local crafters can bring their machine, project, and supplies to work on projects and share tips and ideas with other sewers.

"We don’t do instruction or anything like that, it's just everybody just brings whatever they’re working on and we just hang out for the day," explained Guernsey Sewing Club Member Julia Whitney. "You just basically need to bring your own sewing machine and whatever project you’re working on, and it’s a lot of fun."

The group was started by local sewers Carol DeJager, Karen Voorhis, Jen Hendrickson, and Julia Whitney as a way to connect with other sewers and enjoy a relaxing day of sewing together.

Whitney said the group keeps her motivated to work on and finish projects, and it's also a great resource for sewing techniques, new patterns, and sharing materials.
