Greene baseball picks up late win against Whitney Point

WHITNEY POINT – The Greene Trojans baseball team traveled to play non-league opponent Whitney Point on Thursday afternoon. Greene came home with a 10-5 victory, which came in the final innings.

Whitney Point got on the board in the bottom of the first and Greene tied the game at one in the third.

The Eagles added three runs in the fourth as Greene followed with three runs of their own in the top of the fifth. Whitney Point took a brief 5-4 lead after five.

However, the Trojans took control in the top of the sixth inning and added on in the seventh to secure the victory. Trent Drew singled with one out in the top of the sixth, stole second and advanced to third on walks.
