Oxford baseball drops to Deposit-Hancock

OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks baseball team hosted the red-hot and unbeaten Deposit-Hancock Eagles on Thursday, falling 19-0. Oxford saw one extra base hit from Blake Barrows, but could not get him in to score.

The Blackhawks had five hits on the day with two singles from Nic Dodzweit and hits from Barrows, Kyle Benjamin, and Noah Chesebro. Benjamin, Landen Olinski, and Adam Beckwith drew walks in the loss.

Barrows got the start on the mound for Oxford, going three innings, allowing 11 earned runs (12 runs) on six hits, five walks, and struck out three batters. Adam Beckwith worked 1.1 innings of relief, allowing five earned runs (seven runs) on three hits, four walks and had one strikeout.
