B-G baseball tops Sidney in MAC consolation

BAINBRIDGE – With the MAC Championship going on at Sidney High School, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats and the Sidney Sabers baseball teams played at the Bainbridge town field. In Thursday’s MAC consolation game, B-G came away with a 7-4 victory as the road team.

After two scoreless innings, B-G scored five runs in the top of the third to break the game open and held the Sabers. However, Sidney got four back in the bottom of the fourth. B-G added a run in the fifth and sixth innings to secure the win.

B-G’s five-run inning came on a Mason Acquisto walk with one out, Jaxson McGraw was hit by the pitch and both advanced to second and third on a passed ball. With two outs, Anthony Cafasso reached on error to bring in Acquisto. Kaiden Seymour did what he does best, bringing in runs and he brought in McGraw on a single to left.

B-G was not done as Timmy Kinter walked to load the bases for Brayden Swartwout, who reached on an error and two runs scored to make it 5-0.
