Harpursville/Afton baseball stays strong in win over Delhi

AFTON – After wins against Oxford and Greene, the Harpursville/Afton Crimson Hornets have been on a roll late in the end of the 2025 season. The Crimson Hornets won their third straight game with a 4-1 victory over Delhi in a MAC consolation game.

After two scoreless innings, both teams got on the board in the third. Delhi went up 1-0 on a RBI double, but that was all that was allowed by Ryan Wright, who worked a one-run, two-hitter. Wright also had support from his offense, who went ahead with four runs in the bottom half of the third inning.

Liam Donahue singled to lead-off the bottom of the third and advanced to second on Wright’s single to center. Jayden Deleon walked with one out to load the bases for Matt Carman. Carman, who’s been on fire lately at the plate, did it again and drove in both Donahue and Wright with a double to center field.
