CONKLIN – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team faced off against Deposit-Hancock on Friday at Sus Valley High School. B-G defeated Southern Cayuga in the first round of the Section IV, Class C tournament while Deposit-Hancock, who won the MAC championship and received a bye as the second seed. Deposit-Hancock defeated B-G 8-0.
The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI single before cashing in five runs in the third and two final runs in the fifth inning. B-G was held scoreless but collected seven hits, including a double by Parker Buttice.
Buttice led the Bobcats with two hits, along with two singles by Aidan Haynes. Kaiden Seymour, Brayden Swartwout, and Anthony Cafasso each had a hit as Swartwout and Mason Acquisto both reached base on a walk in the loss.
