OXFORD - After weeks of rain, this week’s hot and sunny weather has vegetable and flower crops bursting forth. Shoppers will find all kinds of beautiful plants, cut flowers, and seasonal vegetables at the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday, along with mushrooms; eggs, dairy products and regional cheeses; locally raised and processed beef, lamb, pork and chicken; local hard ciders, maple syrup and honey; coffee and tea; hand-made soaps, lotions and balms; homemade treats for dogs; and exquisitely hand-crafted items for the kitchen and home—all from local producers.
And to make the park feel even more bountiful, local singer, songwriter and performer Jo Jo Russell will be accompanied by Ariah Mitchell. The two have been performing together since the Winter of ’24, with Ariah singing and playing harmonica along to Jo Jo's guitar, vocals and feet drums. Their material is wide ranging and you're likely to sing along and possibly even dance! Although Jo Jo has appeared numerous times at the Oxford Farmers' Market, this will be Ariah's first time there. The duo appear every Friday from 5pm to 8pm at Roma's Italian Restaurant in Oxford, where they draw quite a crowd.
The Market opens at 9:00 am, with music starting at 10:00 am.
