NORWICH — The Place and The PULSE Coalition have partnered to bring back Safe Summer Fun Day from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at Kurt Beyer Park, located at 95 Cortland Street in Norwich.
Safe Summer Fun Day is a free event for Chenango County families and youth of all ages. The event aims to promote local resources for families, as well as safe summer activities for families and youth.
"It is something that used to happen years ago, and it’s an event to kick off summer and also give families ideas and connections so that their children and their family can have a safe summer. So it’s all promoting different resources," explained The PULSE Coalition Coordinator Jessica Colley.
There will be 35 local agencies and businesses tabling at the event, with each providing information on what they do and how they can help youth and families, as well as activities for attending youth and donated items to be raffled off.
Additionally, Live Event NY will be DJing and emceeing the event, and will be bringing yard games for youth to enjoy; Rentals To-Go has provided port-a-potties; the Chenango County Sheriff's Office will be in attendance providing Child Safe IDs; South New Berlin EMS will be providing popcorn; Gilligan's Island has donated ice cream; The Place will be serving hot dogs; and City Church will be offering popsicles.
