SHERBURNE - Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., will hold a free Family Fishing Frenzy program for all ages.
The event will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 27, at Friends of Rogers, located at 2721 State Highway 80, in Sherburne.
“We’re so excited about our fishing program and invite all ages to enjoy the educational experience,” said Friends of Rogers Senior Environmental Educator Erica Clark. “We’ll be teaching fishing basics and how to identify fish.”
She said a fishing license is not required for the program and mentioned they have a limited amount of fishing poles available, so she suggested participants can bring their own.
Clark also mentioned fishing at the property is only allowed during special events and said she's working diligently to update the website to reflect the no cost program.
Registration is required. For more information or to register, email Erica at erica@friendsofrogers.org.
Every year, Friends of Rogers staff and board provide programming for free or reduced cost to the public.
According to their website, they are supported by a number of Central New York’s local foundations, and bring a wide range of excursions, guided with experts in all educational agenda.
Hours of operation at the Visitor Center are: Monday and Tuesday: by appointment only, Wednesday to Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday: 12 p.m. To 4 p.m.
