Explore Creativity with art classes at the Earlville Opera House
EARLVILLE - Earlville Opera House (EOH) is excited to present a jammed packed calendar filled with amazing art classes and workshops. This series is dedicated to fun engaging activities for people of all ages.
With classes dedicated to fiber arts, painting, pottery, and crafting, you will learn something new while enjoying each class. Plus, you’ll make your very own memento to bring home or gift! To register for classes, call our office at 315-691-3550.
For the month of June, “Intro to Amigurumi: Crochet Art Class” will have participants crochet their own cute character coaster by art instructor Liza Taylor.
This class is on June 28 at 1 p.m. $10 per person, $8 per EOH member, and free for Earlville residents. The max class size is seven people, and you must register by June 26.
Art instructor Liza Taylor is an Earlville native who is currently the Assistant Director at the Hamilton Public Library. With passion for the fiber arts, she spends her free time crocheting adorable characters. She can be found selling her crochet plushies at the Hamilton Farmers Market.
For the month of July, “Step-by-Step Landscape Painting” will have participants create their own masterpiece under the instruction of art teacher Kayleigh Olive. This class is on July 26th at 1pm. $25 per person and $22 per EOH member/Earlville residents! The max class size is twelve people, and you must register by July 24th. Kayleigh Olive is currently a high school art teacher with the Sherburne-Earlville School District. Her students have won awards from the Chenango Arts Council, Sherburne Arts Festival, and Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival, Kayleigh has coached soccer, volleyball, track & field, and Odyssey of the Mind for the Sherburne-Earlville School District.
For the month of August, “Paint Pour you own Iridescent Jellyfish” will have participants explore the fun of paint pouring under art instructor Lori Crumb. This class is on August 30 at 1 pm and 2 pm (that’s two classes!). $10 per person, $8 per EOH member, and free for Earlville residents! The max class size is ten people for each time slot, and you must register by August 28. Get ready to unlock your creativity and sense of wonder as art instructor Lori Crumb highlights the fun that is paint pouring! Each jellyfish will be unique, as no two pours are the same, a perfect summer project!
For the month of September, “Beginners’ Book Binding” will have participants learn this wonderous craft from art instructor Riley Webster. This class is on September 13th at 1pm. The max class size is twelve people, and you must register by September 11th. Pricing is to be announced. Check our website for the latest information on this class! Riley Webster was the 2024 featured artist for the Sherburne Arts Festival, as well as a featured artist for the Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival Billboard Challenge his senior year of high school.
For the month of October, build your own clay lantern with Village Clay here at EOH! This class is on October 18th at 1pm. $50 per person and $45 per EOH member/Earlville residents! The max class size is ten people, and you must register by October 16th. Participants will make a beautiful lantern, perfect for an autumn inspired decorated home, under the instruction of Village Clay’s own instructors. The clay lanterns will be made during the class, and Village Clay will take the finished projects back to their studio to glaze and fire in their kiln for a later pickup.
Finally, for the month of November there will be a two-part class, “Gingerbread House Making and Decorating”, that will get participants into the holiday spirit! This series will be on November 22nd & 29th both starting at 1pm. This series is FREE for all participants! The max class size is 10 teams/families, and you must register by November 15th. Local gingerbread house builder Deb Pierce will lead families on how to build and decorate your very own gingerbread house. This series is just in time for the Earlville Winter Festivities!

EOH is located at 18 East Main Street in the quaint Village of Earlville, NY. At EOH we believe accessibility & inclusion are critical to everything we do. Our historic Opera House has been upgraded to ensure accessibility throughout the building, including a hearing loop system in our 1892 theater provided by Hamilton Hearing LLC.
