What’s Happening at the Sidney Memorial Public Library in July
SIDNEY - The Sidney Memorial Public Library has a full summer of events for folks of all ages planned.
The mixed media art exhibit by Rita Ferrugiari will be available for viewing in the Smart Community Room through July 24.
Especially for the children, in addition to our regular programs, there will be a Summer Reading Program Kick-Off on Monday, July 7 from 4 to 6 p.m., featuring BJ The Clown show at 5 p.m.
Be sure to sign up for our Summer Reading Program, "Color Our World" for kids ages birth to 17 years for the chance to earn prizes by keeping track of the number of minutes you read.
For the young folks on Thursday, July 17 at 6 p.m. we will feature Robert Rogers Puppet Show. Tuesday, July 22 at 10 a.m. Suzanne Bloom will be our special Story Time guest. Suzanne’s programs are always fun!
Thursday, July 24 at 6 p.m. we will feature a special PJ Movie Night with Harold The Purple Crayon and Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Thursday, July 31, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Color Our Sidewalks! (rain date Thurs., Aug. 14) Sidewalk chalk and sidewalks is always a fun time, come and see how creative you can be.
We also some have very special programs for the adults. Books A La Carte Book Sales will be held at the library on Saturday, July 5 and 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Book Club will meet on Tuesday, July 8 to discuss the book "James" by Percival Evertt.
We will continue to offer Computer Classes. Excel II will be held on Wednesday, July 9 from 2 to 3 p.m. Learn advanced features including creating custom charts and filtering data using tables.
PowerPoint will be held on Wednesday, July 23 from 2 to 3 p.m. Learn to present information graphically including slide transitions and animations.

We are very pleased to announce a special History Program to be held on Saturday, July 26, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.: "The Oneida Indian Nation: America’s First Allies" with Scott Payne. Historian Scott J. Payne will tell the story of four Oneida individuals who were instrumental to the Patriot cause in New York and Pennsylvania during the American Revolution. This program will be held in The Smart Community Room.
