SOUTH OTSELIC — The Otselic Valley Fishing and Heritage Association (OVF&HA) invite the community to view Grace Brown's rare collection of personal items and memorabilia.
The items recount the life of Grace Brown, Chester Gillette, and the famous murder trial of 1906.
The program will be from 7 to 9 p.m., July 11, at the First Baptist Church, located at 130 County Road 13, in South Otselic.
Some of the personal items date over 120 years and include Grace's 1902 diary, a small ring, her sewing kit, her cradle, and a lock of her hair.
“To begin the program, we will show the 2021 film “My Dear Chester,” a film that dramatized Grace’s last ten love letters,” said SUNY Morrisville English Teacher Foor-Pessin.
The rare collection of love letters was acquired by Paul Heagerty of Oswego. He also received personal items from Grace’s great nephew, Dr. Robert C. Williams.
Heagerty will share the personal items before taking them to their permanent destination at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York.
