ONEONTA – The Oxford U18 softball team took the field for the first time this summer, something new for the program for the month of July. Oxford faced Oneonta for two games, dropping both five-inning games.

Game 1: Oneonta 15 - Oxford 0

Oxford’s Peyton Cummings had the team’s only hit in the loss.

Game 2: Oneonta 4 - Oxford 1

After being down 4-0, Oxford answered back with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Emmalee Reiss scored on a wild pitch. Jenna Denz and Reagan Long had both hits for Oxford as P Timke and Aubrey Rickard both reached base on a walk and Reiss on a hit by pitch. Lily Marshman allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits, three walks, and struck out eight batters in the loss.
