PHARSALIA — The Pharsalia Farmers’ Market and the Area Agency on Aging Chenango County will offer an “Evening Dine” pop-up dinner event for folks aged 60 plus.

The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m, July 16, at the Pharsalia Farmers Market, in the Pharsalia Fire House, located at 838 County Road 10, McDonough.

The Area Agency on Aging Chenango County Director Heather Collier said the agency is providing the pop-up “Evening Dine” for seniors that don’t live near one of their senior centers.

Collier noted the event will not only provide a meal, but seniors will have the opportunity to shop for fresh foods and homemade goods.

“We feel it helps to address social isolation and food insecurities,” said Collier. “Our congregate meals and home delivered meals are suggested contribution services.”

She said the cost of the meal is a voluntary contribution of $3.50 for seniors 60-plus and $9.50 for anyone under 60.

“There is no charge for meals, nutrition information or counseling, but each person is given the opportunity to make a suggested voluntary contribution for meals,” Collier said. “The meal will include Chicken Piccata, egg noodles, and grapes.”

Collier noted they are currently planning additional pop-up events in the surrounding area and will have those scheduled soon.
