Norwich man arrested for unlawful imprisonment, burglary, and abuse
NORWICH – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Norwich man on accusations that he broke into a Plymouth home and violated the victims inside.
On July 18, the sheriffs arrested 39-year-old Thomas Kopec on an active arrest warrant out of Plymouth Town Court. Kopec allegedly broke into a residence in a Town of Plymouth residence on May 31, assaulted victims inside the home, and fled the scene before deputies responded which resulted in the warrant of arrest.
Kopec was arrested without incident and arraigned in the Centralized Court. He was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail.
Kopec is to appear in court on a later date to address charges of burglary in the second, criminal mischief in the second, aggravated criminal contempt, aggravated sexual abuse in the third, criminal obstruction of breath/blood circulation, and unlawful imprisonment in the second.
