Blackhawk Alumni ice breaker on Friday

OXFORD – The Oxford Academy reunion weekend kick-off will be happening once again at the Fort Hill American Legion on Friday, July 25, with the Blackhawk Alumni Ice Breaker. Post 376 sponsors this annual fundraiser. Bring your appetite, your (non-alumni) friends, your yearbook and your dancing shoes for an evening of fun!

Food will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. The Legion will be cooking up meatballs; pulled pork with sauces and rolls, brownies, and chips. Dance to DJ Marianne of Phoenix Entertainment from 6 -10 p.m., but the party keeps on going. Oxford Academy class reunions (especially the classes of 2005, 1995, 1985, 1975, etc.) other alums, and all the public are welcome! (Cash bar; over 21, please.) Also, be sure to check out the commemorative neoprene can coolers being sold by the ALA near the food register.

This American Legion fundraiser occurs annually on the last Friday (of the last full weekend) in July. The event benefits the mission of the American Legion, a non-profit patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our community, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
