OXFORD - Just at the time of year when all the primary colors of summer (think blueberries and raspberries, tomatoes and sunflowers) start to appear at the Market, beloved children’s book writer and illustrator Suzanne Bloom also makes an appearance to read for the kiddos - and the kiddo in all of us - from her brilliantly colorful and inspiring books.

Suzanne will be reading from, selling and signing books this Saturday at the Oxford Farmers’ Market on Lafayette Park.

Vendors at the Market this week will be offering an abundance of locally-grown seasonal fruits, vegetables and mushrooms; locally raised and processed beef, lamb, pork and chicken; cut flowers and flowering plants; chicken, duck and turkey eggs; a wide range of cheeses, butter, and other dairy products; breads and baked goods; fudges, and jams; local hard ciders; maple syrup and honey; hand-made healthy treats for dogs, hand-made soaps, lotions and balms; items for the kitchen and home; and artisan fiber products. Every product straight from a local source and the skilled hands of your neighbors.

And to make the morning extra special, folk fiddler John Potocnik and pianist Kathy Shimberg will be performing in the Bandstand.
