Smyrna Citizens Band performs tonight, wraps up season August 11

SMYRNA - The Smyrna Citizens Band will perform the fifth concert in its 2025 summer series tonight, Monday, August 4, at 7 p.m. from the bandstand above the Smyrna Library.

Tonight’s program will open with The Star-Spangled Banner and include a wide variety of musical selections, such as Washington Post March, The Enchanted Canyon, Amazing Grace, Prelude in G Minor, Percy Grainger Portrait, I Dreamed a Dream, Guadalcanal March, Take On Me, Latin Winds, and Highlights from The Music Man. The concert will close with The Smyrna Citizens Band March.

Desserts prepared by the Methodist Church women and the Smyrna Auxiliary will be available for purchase, and popcorn will be served at the library. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the evening with neighbors and friends. The event is sponsored by the Town and Village of Smyrna.

The final concert of the season is scheduled for Monday, August 11, at 7 p.m. and will also take place at the bandstand. That performance will feature selections including Amparita Roca, Malaguena, Blues Brothers Revue, American Patrol, Stars and Stripes Forever, West Side Story, Amazing Grace, Selections from Chicago, Jamaican Farewell, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and close with The Smyrna Citizens Band March.

Refreshments and popcorn will again be available, and organizers encourage the public to attend this special final evening of music under the summer sky.
