SHERBURNE – The 2025 Mountain Top Golf Course Men’s Member-Guest tournament officially begins today following Thursday’s practice rounds. A total of 32 teams, made up of 64 golfers, will take the course, with the morning group teeing off at 7 a.m. and the afternoon group at 1 p.m.
Today’s round will be 18 holes, which is two trips around the nine-hole par-35 course, played in best-ball format. After today’s scores, teams will be placed into flights for Saturday’s championship round. The first flight will continue in best ball, while all other flights will compete in captain and mate.
“Joe and I are very excited for the tournament, “ said Nicole Thompson, co-owner of Mountain Top. “We are excited to be in a community that comes together around the game of golf and this weekend is focused right on the members and their guests, and we thank them for coming out.”
Mountain Top has already hosted several events this summer, including the Sherburne-Earlville football tournament, the S-E wrestling fundraiser, and the Ladies and Mate Invitational. The course will also host the fifth annual Sherburne Fire Department Auxiliary fundraiser on September 6. In addition, Mountain Top serves as home course for the Unadilla Valley/GMU golf team this fall.
