SHERBURNE — The Unadilla Valley/GMU golf team opened its second year as a program on Monday, hosting Delhi at Mountain Top Golf Course in Sherburne.

The Storm showed confidence in their return to the course but fell 232-266 in the opener.

Declan Potter and Carter Simonds paced UV/GMU with matching rounds of 51 on the par-35 layout. Kyle Keuhn followed closely with a 52, while Asher Hackett carded a 53 and Gavin Underwood with a 59 to round out the team scoring. Sixth man Hunter Winton also saw action, shooting a 64.

Delhi finished with scores ranging from a low of 42 to a high of 53.

UV/GMU, now 0-1, heads to Ouleout Creek Golf Course on Wednesday at 12 p.m. to face MAC newcomer Unatego/Franklin.
