WAVERLY – After finishing fourth at the DiNunzio tournament, the Norwich Purple Tornado golf team officially began the 2025 regular season schedule. Norwich took on STAC opponent Waverly on Tuesday at the Shepard Hills Country Club. The Purple Tornado returned home with a 219-239 victory.

Coming off a top medalist finish in the DiNunzio, Brevin Bennett led all scorers with a 40 (+3) on the par-37 course. Matthew Brunick followed with a 42 (+5) as both Gavin Burrell and Charlie Smith shot a 45 (+8).

Michael Brunick finished with a 47 while Jacob Lobdell received playing time as the sixth man, where he shot a 48.

Waverly’s scores ranged from a low 43 to a high 52.

Norwich (1-0) hosts Owego Apalachin this morning at 11 a.m.
