SO. NEW BERLIN – After a bye week on August 13, the South New Berlin Horseshoe Club returned to the pits on Wednesday, August 20. The season concluded on August 27 with results to follow.

As of August 20, Lee Coon and Jess Sherwood, making up the team Kelly’s Flowers, is in the top spot of the standings with a record of 41-19. They are one game ahead of Potter’s Tire, Billy Schermerhorn and John Edwards, who had been sitting at the top in prior weeks. It’s still anybody’s game, going into the final week of the summer season.

Magro’s Pizzería’s Rob Rowlands and Lisa Rowlands sits in third with a record of 35.5-24.5 with Rhino Graphics (Ryan Lund and Bill Wetherbee) on their tail (34.5-25.5). The Stadium’s Al Bush and Al Patten round out the top five teams.

Billy Schermerhorn and Lee Coon earned victories in the men’s leaderboards. Schermerhorn took the men’s high singles with a 72 as Coon came in second with a 63 and Ron Anderson with a 61.

Coon achieved the men’s high series with a 182 with Schermerhorn in second with a 174 and Anderson with a 168.

Jess Sherwood swept the women’s leaderboards with a high singles of a 48 and a high series of a 122. Cindy Miller finished with a high singles of a 42 and a high series of a 117. Lisa Rowlands took third in both categories with a high singles of a 37 and a high series of a 81.

Potter’s Tire won the top team leaderboards as Webster Paving (Ed Webster and Bob Wells) swept the team handicap high singles and series.

The South New Berlin Horseshoe Club meets every Wednesday night throughout the summer season.
