NORTH NORWICH - On August 15 a Town of North Norwich resident and convicted sex offender was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly seeking to sexually engage a minor. Police said a the man used a fake name, sought nude images and wanted a sexual relationship.

Members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Christopher L. Prosser, after police received a tip-off he was having a sexually motivated conversation with a teenaged female.

The sheriff said deputies, with assistance from the detectives division, conducted a thorough investigation into Prosser’s alleged conversation with the minor.

“Christopher was using an alias to communicate with the female. During the investigation it was discovered that Christopher sent a nude photo of himself and solicited the minor to do the same. During the conversation Christopher made arrangements to meet up with the female for sexual relations,” reported the Sheriff's Office.
