NORWICH — The Chenango Arts Council, located at 27 West Main Street in Norwich, will be hosting a mosaic class from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 28.
The class is taught by Cortland-based artist Ashe Martin, who has 20 years of experience in a variety of mediums, but specializes in mosaic art.
Participants will be able to create a flat pumpkin or jack-o'-lantern mosaic that can be used as fall decor, as a coaster, or to put a flower pot or planter on. All supplies will be included.
Chenango Arts Council Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Miller said the class is open to all ages and skill levels.
"It would be appropriate for any age. I think this was one of the projects from the Kids Summer Art Camp, so it would be appropriate for children as well," she said. " It can be for somebody who’s a beginner, or somebody who’s made mosaic pieces before. It’ll be a very fun Halloween class."
Miller also recommended attendees wear clothes they can get dirty, as the project will include grouting.
The class is $40 for Arts Council members and $45 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at ChenangoArts.org.
