B-G football comes away with victory over Whitney Point

SIDNEY – With the field still under construction, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats football team hosted Whitney Point at the Sidney multi-purpose field for the second straight week. After a hard loss to Trumansburg, B-G bounced back to earn their first win of the season in a tight 16-15 battle with the Eagles.

Coach Art Rigas said the big play to secure the victory was Connor Davy’s rushing touchdown with a little over three minutes left to go, which put the Bobcats ahead after being down 15-8 after the third quarter.

Davy, the Bobcats’ quarterback, went 5 for 12 with 35 passing yards, but most of his work was on the ground. He rushed for 13 carries for 112 yards and the touchdown. Parker Buttice also rushed for a touchdown and was 13 for 61 yards. Isaiah Hampton rushed 10 carries for 52 yards and caught the ball three times for 23 yards.
