Norwich girls’ tennis falls short to Owego

NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ tennis team battled hard in its home match Wednesday afternoon but came up just short against Owego Apalachin, 4-3.

Norwich earned points in two doubles matches and one singles match. In singles play, Riley Wolford dropped two 6-1 sets to Owego’s Merri Westcott, while Finley Farrow fell 6-0, 6-2 to Jana Nikulich. Rori Gates earned a point for Norwich with a forfeit win at third singles, but Selina Lian dropped 6-0, 6-0 by Betty Pellicano.
