Oxford girls’ soccer stays hot with shutout win over Walton/Downsville

DOWNSVILLE – Coming off their victory over Delhi, the Oxford Blackhawks girls’ soccer team traveled to Downsville on Thursday to take on Walton/Downsville. Oxford returned home with a 3-0 shutout victory.

Junior Kayla Knapp added on to her all-time scoring record as she scored all three of the team’s goals with one assist by Raine Rovente.

“The girls’ hard work and perseverance were on full display throughout the game,” Coach Rachel Seiler said. “I am thrilled to see them deliver a strong competitive performance. Notably, our passing and off-the-ball movement were executed with precision.”

Oxford (4-0-1) hosts Bainbridge-Guilford on Monday at 6 p.m.
