Greene field hockey earns shutout victory over Walton

WALTON – After a big win against Newark Valley, the Greene Trojans field hockey team traveled to Walton, where they returned home with a 2-0 shutout victory. The Trojans improve to 4-3 on the season but remain behind Walton in the league standings. Walton came into the matchup 6-1 overall before the loss., which was a good pick up for the Trojans.

Greene picked up 12 corners and outscored Walton 16-5. Josie Dutcher scored and assisted on Irelyn DeHaan’s goal in the win.

Mya Leggett-Carlin and Braelyn Blakeslee split time in goal for Greene, where they each made two saves.

Greene (4-3) hosts Moravia on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
