Greene field hockey comes up short vs RFA

GREENE – On Friday, the Greene Trojans field hockey team hosted non-league opponent Rome Free Academy, where they fell short 3-2. Greene earned 12 penalty corners compared to Rome’s five, but the Trojans were outshot 13-2.

Greene’s Josie Dutcher and Irelyn DeHaan each scored with an assist by Deirdre Colgan.

Mya Leggett-Carlin made seven saves as Braelyn Blakeslee had three saves in goal in the loss.

Greene is currently 9-6 on the season, standing tall in first place of Section IV, Division II ahead of Walton, Deposit-Hancock, and Sidney. The Trojans host Owego Apalachin on October 14 at 7 p.m. and then end the 2025 regular season home against Whitney Point on the 16th at 7 p.m.
