GREENE - The Moore Memorial Library and Matt’s Hilltop Harvest invites the community to their free and public Fall Festival, celebrating local creativity and the changing seasons.
The hometown event will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., October 25, on the library grounds, located at 59 Genesee Street in Greene.
Moore Memorial Library Director Linda Denz said the festival will provide a variety of events and include indoor-outdoor activities for all ages.
Denz said activities will include crafts, yard games, a book sale, photo opportunities, a corn hole competition, pumpkin painting, all ages costume contests, professional face painting, treats and prizes.
“There will also be a scavenger hunt, and the Greene Fire Department will have a truck on-site for families to explore,” Denz added. “And we have a full day of music, poetry and a DJ, all starting at 1 p.m.”
Denz said they hope to make this an annual event and and gave credit to Matt Dejager, owner of Matt’s Hilltop Harvest and Claire Nolan, Moore Library Youth Services Programmer for putting the festival together.
“Both Matt and Claire put this entire event together and Matt is supplying the games, pumpkins, and gourds for the children to paint and take home,” she said.
Moore Memorial Library Technical Instructor Scarlett Joy agrees with Denz and said she is hopeful to establish a long-standing tradition with this event and looks forward to the many great things happening on festival day.
While Denz is still looking to sign a food truck for the event, she said there are local restaurants within walking distance.
