Sidney tied the game at eight in the second quarter before B-G’s Isaiah Hampton brought one back on a kick-off return. B-G led 14-8 until Sidney scored and had a successful two-point conversion to go up by two.

Coach Art Rigas said his team had a chance to win it with being at Sidney’s 10 yard line, but time ran out.

“Just been a lot of tough breaks and things that have gone against us,” Rigas said. “Our schedule has been very challenging, but our team has been no quit with their hearts in it and getting better week by week.”

Rigas knew how special the night was for his seniors as well and hopes that they can end the season on a good note next week.

“This loss was so heart-breaking for our seniors, who are great kids,” Rigas added. “We play Walton next week, where both of our teams did not make the playoffs, so we hope that we can end our season on a high note and we will see what we can make happen against a top program.”
