A chance to give back to our veterans

CHENANGO COUNTY - The Go-Won-Go chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is partnering with our local libraries to collect personal hygiene items for the veterans at the NYS Veterans’ Home in Oxford.

There are donation boxes at the Moore Memorial Library in Greene, the Guernsey Memorial Library in Norwich and as of November 1 there will also be a collection box at the Oxford Memorial Library in Oxford. We will be collecting these hygiene items until November 18.

Some typical items include toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, combs, Q-tips and nail clippers. Other items might include throw blankets, stationary, pens, socks, slippers etc.
